VintagePod ("the App") is a music player for iOS. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it's used, and where it's stored. VintagePod is built to work entirely on your device — it does not have a backend server, does not require you to create an account, and does not include any advertising or analytics software from us or from third parties.
| Data | Purpose | Where it's stored |
|---|---|---|
| Your Apple Music library | To show your songs and albums inside VintagePod's interface, with your permission | Stays on your device — read via Apple's MediaPlayer framework, never uploaded |
| Audio files you import (local files, file sharing) | To play music you add to the App | Stays in the App's local storage on your device |
| Song metadata & artwork (titles, artists, album art, lyrics files) | To display track info and enable browsing/search | Stored locally in the App's on-device library database |
| Personal streaming server address, username, and password (Subsonic-compatible servers) | To let you stream your own music collection from a server you control | Address and username in local app storage; password in the iOS Keychain, encrypted by iOS |
| Playback preferences (equalizer settings, sleep timer, shuffle/repeat state, sort order, language, appearance) | To remember your settings between sessions | Stored locally in iOS user defaults on your device |
VintagePod makes network requests only when you configure it to do so — for example, connecting to a personal Subsonic-compatible media server you've set up to stream your own music library. These connections go directly from your device to the server address you provide; VintagePod itself is not a party to that connection and does not log or relay it. If you don't add a streaming server, the App makes no network requests related to your music at all.
VintagePod does not share, sell, rent, or disclose your data to any third party, because the App does not collect or transmit personal data to us in the first place.
VintagePod does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the App stores everything locally on-device and has no account system or data collection, there is no personal data for us to hold about any user.
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted at this same location with a revised "Last updated" date.
